Opium War Starts Again?
The notoriously strict British Advertising Standards Agency has banned the The ICONIC fragrance OPIUM by Yves Saint Laurent ad for >>simulating drug use<< as they banned (Beyoncé’s perfume ad for being >>sexually provocative<<
Word >>Opium<<....and Melanie Thierry plays a woman named Belle who running her finger down her inner arm could be seen to simulate injecting drug! :
The ASA said that the image of the finger running down the woman's arm "could be seen to simulate the injection of opiates into the body". In addition the later scene, which included the woman writhing on the floor, could be seen to "simulate the effect of drugs on the body".
The choreographer Akram Khan explained that the alleged heroin injection actually stood to “represent the flow of energy in Belle’s body, to represent the roads that led to desire or passion” and the consequential writhing symbolized “a sense of life being given out of the earth.”
What do u think??
