My Winter Necessity: Tights, Tights, and More Tights!

It is a rare occasion that you will ever see me in pants, and living in New England this can become an issue in the freezing winter weather. This leads to me accumulating a large assortment of fabulous tights so that I can still wear dresses but avoid frostbite (or at least try)! So I wanted to do a post of my favorite pairs of tights and give suggestions for fabulous fashionistas with cold legs:

My most-worn and favorite style is definitely plain black opaque tights, they are such a necessity! I always have at least 3 pairs on me at all times- you never know when you need them (and unfortunately you never know when they may run). I would personally recommend the DKNY Control Top Opaque Tights, they last a long time, are comfortable, and are flattering on all figures. These are available at Nordstrom for $15. 

SPANX makes great tights, they have awesome colors and designs with an amazing high-waisted control top. This fun design by SPANX is great- the 'Bloom' Lace Tights are perfect to add something extra to an outfit. These are available at Nordstrom for $28

A fun, classy, and youthful printed tight is a sheer black background that features dots or small hearts. These Nordstrom Heart Patterned Sheer Tights are a must have for every fashionista's tight collection. These are available at Nordstrom for $10. 

Just because it is frosty outside doesn't mean you have to be freezing- There are many amazing tights options that suit every fashionista's specific personality! Burberry Gaga?

This Burberry Giant Check Wool Snood could only be pulled off by one fierce diva! I love the style, but I can't help but automatically think about my Lady Gaga costume for Halloween- striking similarity anyone?

China Glaze Stella vs. China Glaze Cowgirl Up

I love Stella. It´s one of my winter favorites. I always wanted to know how different from Cowgirl Up it is. Now I know it, thanks to my friend Boruvka. They are very similar, but Stella is more "clean" purple and Cowgirl Up has more red-brown undertones. Cowgirl Up is richer, deeper. I like still Stella because of its color purity. What about you? Index finger - Cowgirl Up, middle finger - Cowgirl Up, ring finger - Stella, pinky - Stella. Both colors are in 2 coats with Essie Good To Go! top coat.

Poll – What’s Your Favorite Polish Finish?

I recently ran a poll on Twitter and the big question was “What’s your FAVORITE polish finish? Holographic, creme, glitter (chunky or micro)? Shimmer, matte, duo chrome, or jelly? ” According to the feedback I recieved from the people that responded, CREMES won with 35% of your votes! Most of you agreed that “Creme’s are classic;  you can never go wrong with a creme polish.” Here’s a popular creme, China Glaze For Audrey:

Coming in second was HOLOGRAPHICS with 23%! Can you believe that at one point during the poll, holographics and cremes were tied? I think the creme fans jumped on at the right time to give holos a run for their money! In the end, you all love holographics because of their “uniqueness”. I have to agree with you on that one! Here’s China Glaze LOL from the OMG Collection:

In third place was GLITTER with 13% of your votes! I understand that many people have a love/hate relationship with glitter. While you adore glitter polishes, you can’t stand the removal process! I completely understand where you’re coming from: How can something so beautiful be such a pain in the whoo-haa? Well, here’s a tip that’s been shared with me many times: Soak a piece of felt (this can be picked up in fabric stores) in actone and start rubbing away! The felt won’t break up into a million pieces like a cotton pad, so I promise that it will last through the removal process of all 10 fingers! With that being said, here’s one of China Glaze’s best-selling glitter polishes, Ruby Pumps:

Not to be forgotten, shimmer and duo-chrome polishes both came in at 7%, while jelly and matte polishes recieved 4% of the votes.

China Glaze Crackle is Coming!

As many of you may know , we are launching a line of China Glaze Crackle polishes that will be available starting February 2011! Rather than just teasing you with just one crackle color, there will be a total of SIX amazingly fun colors!
